The Legislative Group provides research to the Mississippi Legislature on lengthy projects such as tort reform and workers’ compensation law reform and quick turn around fifty state and federal law research projects from Committee Counsel during the session. Over 70 law research requests are completed annually for the Legislature and other state agencies. | ||

Cotton Ruthven is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy and the University of Mississippi School of Law. He joined MLRI in 1990 and has 25 years varied experience in Mississippi law practice and research. | ||
